Message copied here from Frank Novicki, of APE! and the Waikiki Steel Works. If you've got a ukelele, come on down!

Are you a frustrated ukulele player? Do family and friends make fun of your diminutive instrument? Do you long to pull your uke out of the closet and strum it proudly on stage without any fear of public disapproval?

Well here's your chance! This Saturday, June 21, The Waikiki Steel Works (that's Frank Novicki & Ben Bonham) are performing at the Cellar at Johnny Foley's in San Francisco. And as a special treat they are inviting all ukulele players who attend to join them on stage for a rousing Ukulele Superjam. This event is open to ALL uke players, REGARDLESS OF SKILL. Bring your uke, pay the admission, jam on stage. It's that simple. We hope you and your Auntie Flo will join us!

Using the same instrumentation as Hawaiian musicians of the 1920's and 30's, The Waikiki Steel Works (AKA Frank Novicki & Ben Bonham) make the sounds of old-time Hawaiian string music new again.
This is Frank & Ben's first performance in the Bay Area in over a year. Audiences will be in for a rare treat of vintage National steel guitars, ukuleles, and Hawaiian slack key imbued with Island sounds,
hot jazz, ragtime and swing.
