Here they are. The first is a Tapa design that I went way out on. This is all woodblock printed, using natural white, India Ink, and deep brown stains, in a wraparound diagonal. I call it the Melville.
And finally, and I mean finally cause this is the last hat I'm making this year, this took a LOT of time!!!! And it was worth it - was going to call it the 'Seek Fish' hat, But - I took it over to Buzzy's this morning. Buzzy took one look at it and said - "It's the HAT OF TIKI!" So that's what it is. It's got everything. Tiki masks printed over with two layers of woodblack printed Tapa designs, Volcanoes chugging away - Leaping fish - Native spearfishermen, with fish in the back of da boat - Here comes the Tapa prints again - Natives worshipping at the Alter of Tiki. That Tapa print brim - More brim - And yes of course on top, after all the fishing, Tikis, running away from lava flows, what ya get is a NICE DRINK. See ya at OASIS!!!! |
