There is a small mystery going on in New Zealand.

Police are investigating an abandoned picnic at a lakeshore - a blanket, picnic basket, food, newspaper, and barbecue lighter were all left behind. Did the picnicers simply walk away? Did they go swimming and drowned?

What makes this story interesting is the items were left on the shore of a lake called Tikitapu, named because a tiki was lost in the waters 200-300 years ago, and never found (tapu means sacred)

Did the lost tiki have anything to do with this?
