He was really interested to hear what I liked and didn't like in various Trader Vic's restaurants. I made it clear that Tokyo, Atlanta, Munich, and to a lesser degree Dallas and London were the templates for greatness, and that the vibe in places like the recently closed San Francisco and (of course) Las Vegas are not quite as successful. He was asking me detailed questions about why most tikiphiles hold these opinions, and he seems like he wants to get it right. Time will tell.
