I like the idea of converting (subverting?) objects to a different use (still have plans for turning some old four-burner stove into a DJing unit with turntables for the hotplates) and recently have been looking into those 50's stereo units with the record-players that pop out when opening a door and the radio that comes up with the other drop-down door. I can imagine having a blast converting an old trashed unit - usually they go for 40-50 in local thrifts...
