I am very much into MCM and after my daughter went to work for Disney in Orlando I began to become more interested in mine and my husband's Florida history. (My father was with GE at Cape Canaveral in the late 50's and early 60's during the early days of space exploration. My husband's great grandfather was Reynolds Cothron who oversaw the building of the railroad that ran from Florida through the Keys that was wiped out during a hurricane and replaced with the interstate). With this new found interest came a sudden urge to recreate those days - which included palm trees and I Dream of Jeanie decor. So, that is how I eventually stumbled into here. Now we have decided to turn a spare bedroom into a Tiki Bar so that we have our own island getaway. Since we are just getting started it will be awhile before I upload any pics - but I have gotten great ideas from what I have seen here.
