That's my point. That's where I disagree.

"Pop Tiki" IS all about Authentic Oceanic Art. It clearly was for all the artists and designers who were originally involved with it, mid-century. They were the #1 Fan Club of Oceanic Art.

It is obviously the basis for everything they did.

It is their primary influence.

It is the center of "Tiki Culture".
