My name is Zach, early 30's, I'm from the Metro-Detroit area. I used to make music for a living but now I have a "day job" (though I hope to return to it soon). I've been a fan of all things Tiki ever since my dad brought me back a mug from the Polynesian Resort at Disney World where he attended a convention back in 1980-ish. I began mixing exotic cocktails back in college because I was the guy with a blender (frozen Bacardi mixers & all) and that led to a serious interest in proper drink mixing. I hosted my first luau in 1993 and have been collecting for about 10 years. I've been reading this message board since it began and I'm just now typing my first post- Sad huh? I figure if I start posting, it might force me to start carving (something I've wanted to do for years) The carving posts have been very inspirational. I hope to contribute something of value to this board, as it has helped me quite a bit. -Z
