The person who I spoke to briefly on the phone confirmed that Tahiti "would be completely redone" and not opened until November, contrary to the recording. I suppose at times like this we should still be appreciative of the tikis bars which remain, Tiki Ti, Damon's, the Tonga Room and, my (new) favorite, the grandaddy of them all, Trader Vics. -As well as the new tiki bars: Purple Orchid, and new quasi-tiki bars: Moonson is Santa Monica, Point Moreea and "the Islands" chain.
