It's not quite as loud at full power as my shopvac is during regular use. It's a little slower than a gas chain saw, but it's way quieter. Also, it's either on or off, so there is no idle noise when you are not actually cutting. I think it only cost me about $60-70 and I've had it for about three years now. Or? Get a police scanner so you can hear when they are on the way. :) Hand tools are better anyway Buzzy Out!
