My Registered Dietician daughter told me about CANDIED BACON ICE CREAM!!!!! Yes, you read that right. There is a recipe all over the internet but I decided to strike out on my own. I had some pre-cooked bacon and real maple syrup. I chopped up 3 slices of bacon and put it in a pan with about 1/4 cup of maple syrup. I brought it to a boil over medium heat, stirring continuously, until it reduced down to a goo (that's a technical candy making term). I spooned it out on a piece of foil and let it cool, then it broke up like peanut brittle (hmmmm, bacon brittle). Then I stirred it into a pint of softened Haagen Dazs Butter Pecan ice cream.
