That's a chapman stick, by the way. I always thought there should be a tie in between exotic music and our thing, but there really is not. Exotica is a term for lounge music/mood music/easy listening music of the 1950's. It was not meant to really be deep or thought provoking, despite the somewhat descriptive song titles. It is music with a heavy kitsch factor, meant for fun and cocktails!! This music is more for bong hits and shrooms. I like it though. A lot!
