Just brushing off the sawdust to respond to your question, then it is back to the studio!

I give many of my pieces different finishes to look aged, these range from washes to dry brushings, but none have any sort of coating on them.

Of course, if they were to be displayed out of doors I make exceptions to the finishes to make sure that they hold up to the elements.
