So. Calif. is very very crowded and buying a house involves checking listings daily... I was making offers on houses after only seeing them for the first time 2 hours before - even then all houses had multiple offers usually for $20K to $30K over asking prices. Even our house here in Glendale - man, we just got lucky - who knows why (well, I did bid $5K over asking) why our offer out of 6 others was accepted - the house went up for sale on Tuesday and by Friday all offers were in and bidding closed and our offer had been accepted - that is how fast this market is,(and this was in Glendale) - the boonies ---

Boonies? Not Glendale IMHO. You've seen where I moved! Damn', compared to your home, I'm a half mile east of Egypt out in Corona!

But seriously, the market isn't any different in the Inland Empire. When I listed my condo, I got 4 offers within the first 5 days. 2 of those offers were full price - no haggling and 1 of those 2 was a cash offer!

Buying the house in Corona was no different. We checked listings everyday and even placed an offer on a house based on just a drive-by so we could get in first. We lucked out on the one we got - but then again, we gave them their full price with no haggling. We figured if that's the kind of offer we were getting for our condo, we'd better do the same with the house if we really wanted to get it.

Just a little something to think about Seamus when/if you consider coming down to So Cal. Its a very competitive RE market here!
