Great point. Honestly, Motel 6 was $89.99 per night for all the peak nights of Oasis--much more of a stretch than $160 considering the quality of the Hanalei (and that's very short of the top prices at the Hanalei).

Priceline came up with $135 for Fri & Sat. night...for the Half Moon on Shelter Island...a 1/2 blk away from the Bali Hai and a 5 min. drive from Oasis. It was HEAVEN and I kinda suspect that the Half Moon is sadly UNAWARE of Oasis as they would have jacked their rates SKY HIGH..that place is AWESOME..with the exception of that DAMN America band keeping me awake with their GAWD-FURSAKIN ROCK MUSIC til all hours at that there CONCERT establishment of theirs.....

also I volunteered for the first time this year and it was GREAT...some hiccups sat. morning during set-up( go figure) but once all fell into place? Totally easy...and got to attend something I would normally PAY for with a minimum of effort for FREE. I have attended 3 of these now and, even with any difficulties expressed already, the art, music and EVENTS here were the most impressive I have ever seen as far as tiki goes.

Maybe the Security guys could carry Marquesan War Clubs and wear Hawaiian shirts!
