First Tiki Attempt - Tiki Carving

I have had the same problem with the stain several times. It is has be a leraning process for me as I spend a great deal of time carving. Then when you think you are finished and all that needs to be done is throw on a quick coat of stain, you find that it is not the way you hoped. The finish will usually highlight the rough spots. I have to force myself to bear down and bite the bullet. To go back and sand it really sucks, but it is a small time invested compared to how long you will have it.
