After I found his site (and color-copied every page and put it in a binder for easy reference) I think I visited like 25 thrift stores and flea markets searching for Hawaiiian albums. I found something almost everywhere I went, and almost always something different -- most, as you say, for 50 cents or a buck. I have about 200 albums since I started last year, but his last update to the site listed over 300... One thing I love about these albums, is you can be sure most of them will never be offered on CD. So, the search continues.
