From a July 24th New York Times article by William L. Hamilton titled "Geographic Explores The Land of Decor":"(The) National Geographic Society...is introducing a licensed collection of home furnishings in October...The collection will be based on images and objects in the society's archives, like old maps, carvings, and textiles...The furniture sales tags will tell the stories behind the styles or motifs employed, whether a temple or tribal carving or an animal-print fabric, in a bid to avoid being the new Tiki of the 21st Century."
