Aloha!

I picked this guy up today 'cuz I was pretty intrigued. I've never seen one like it, and it was actually made in France of all places.

It fits in my hand (about standard coffee cup size), and each side is different, even though the opposite sides mirror each other. It's a light mottled blue & cream, even though the photos make it look grey.

The bottom is what really puzzled me. It's stamped "France" under the glaze, and marked what looks like "Jean Pierre" on top, and "The Tahiti" on the bottom.

So, anyone out there ever heard of a place in France called "The Tahiti"? Did the artist "Jean Pierre" call himself "The Tahiti" or have a line of art called that? Did this little mug come from our own "Tahitian" that used to be in Ontario, Ca.? What's that "TAI" on the sides; "Tahitian Airlines International"?

I can't turn any info up on this one, so any input would be appreciated!
