Last year I poured over my CD collection and did a few Halloween comps just for kicks. I went with songs that either had lyrics about weird/dark subjects, monsters, or sci-fi themes and songs that just had sort of creepy atmospheric aspects to the music. And I threw in a handful of fun ones since most of us usually go with humorous costumes at Halloween.

A few days before Halloween my friend Sparky, his girlfriend Cookie, and I were driving around one afternoon listening to the Creepy Pop mix and Sparky asked about the music.
"It's a sorta creepy pop mix I did for Halloween," I said.
"It's not really that creepy," Sparky said.
"No," Cookie agreed.
This year it'll be Monster Mash and Thriller for them.
