Here is another piece I did last year and just stained him this week. He is so dry that the teak oil just soaks right in. I am still experimenting with my finishes before I start a new carve. Not to mention waiting for the temps to cool down. I pretty sure I'll have better results if I stain and seal right after I'm done with carving , instead of waiting a year, ha,ha. last year, fresh after carving --before stain -taken this week after some stain - flash went off for this pic, somehow it shows the colors better
