Tiles in the wild - General Tiki

I was strolling through Silverlake ( Ambrose St. - maybe silverlake adjacent... in Los Angeles) when I came upon an apartment building with absolutely NO tiki-ness to it save for this strip of tiles on the front corner. The name of the place, completely obscured by trees is "Kaunas" which could be pronounced "Kahunas" I guess (but google tells me it's a city in Lithuania). Be that as it may, the tiles are pretty cool. They're about 8 or 10 inches square. They're in pretty good shape so maybe they're not too old. Any info out there? Spy Bop Royale!
