Tiles in the wild

It rings a bell, but my search turned up zip. I was strolling through Silverlake ( Ambrose St. - maybe silverlake adjacent... in Los Angeles) when I came upon an apartment building with absolutely NO tiki-ness to it save for this strip of tiles on the front corner.

The name of the place, completely obscured by trees is "Kaunas" which could be pronounced "Kahunas" I guess (but google tells me it's a city in Lithuania).

Be that as it may, the tiles are pretty cool. They're about 8 or 10 inches square. They're in pretty good shape so maybe they're not too old. Any info out there?

Those look like the "Contours CV" tiles By Interpace. Never seen so many used in one place. Very nice! More info and links on this thread:

Synchronicity.

The same day you found a wall of them, I bought a turquoise version.

Now let's see if any other colors turn up. I'll bet there's orange.

Thanks for the link Sabu. It would be interesting to know how many colors there are or other places still standing that used them.

Just found this last week at The rose Bowl Swap meet...

My favorite color...Orange ! It now adorns my coffee table.

There was orange! I win my bet.

Here's what the turquoise looks like:

Sorry the color came out a bit faded. It's actually very saturated.

There used to be a building in downtown Portland with these tiles on the facade.

Alison Martino posted this on her Instagram feed. It's the Roxbury Cafe in Beverly Hills.
