How do you feel about beatnik music?

To me, Beatnik music is hard to classify, as it could be everything from Bebop to very early folk (Like the new christie minstrels, etc).

Beatnik writes such as Kerouack wrote in a "jazz" style...their words, syntax, had a bit of "swing" to it.
