Luckily I like to travel, and this year have experienced my first tiki bars in San Francisco, New York and good ol' London. Next year I plan to visit more tiki haunts in Phoenix and Vegas, and possibly Canada (location(s) to be decided). It's only this year my tiki-lovin' has kicked in. Last year I went to the Enchanted Tiki Room at the Magic Kingdom in Florida, and thought this 'new management' stuff was trash, having done the old-skool room many years ago. Still, it piqued my interest in faux Polynesia, and here I am now with my tiki mini bar at home with a pathetic mug collection (4!) and an array of rums and fruit liqueurs, plus a sweet but small tiki idol lamp procured from a Thai seller on ebay. Christmas should be good - my significant other has my wishlist of mugs, swizzle sticks, jewellery and more - yay! Oh yeah, my name is Cath, I attempted to tiki it up.
