My name is Eric, I am new to carving, only done a couple small (fits in your hand) pieces. I finally decided to get serious and see what I can create, picked up some real tools other than my knife haha. One of my only questions regarding carving wood tiki is: What kinds of wood are better for good hand tool carving? Are certain palm trees better or worse? Here in vegas, we have an abundance of palm, of all kinds.
