Ahh, it's all a product of the bad angel that's sits on my left shoulder, the one whose voice I hear more clearly late at night when I'm whipped, overworked, and music-deprived...I am genuinely sorry if I offended anyone. And of course there's good pop, I listen to lots myself. It's the defiantly terrible stuff that gets my elitist ears in a knot.

No cover of a pop tune by a Bill Shatner or a Pat Boone could hold a candle to the "original" muck that its creators want us to take seriously, the silly turds, and that the listening public have taken to their bosoms so avidly, and that's what I've never been able to understand...if that's elitism (and I'm sure it must be), I am a terrible snob, worse even than Duke Ellington. :)
