Nice one, ever'body!! These are the cats pyjammas!

Curious as to swap mechanics...
Are the names a 2 way trade, or is it utterly random? F'r instance, if I send an item of Mo-Mo ness to person X, will I automatically get a return piece from them? Or do the winds of fate dictate where my heady goodness will come from?
(I'm good either way...)
