When things are tough in the 'real' world is when the movies need to get more un-'real.' I don't want to go to the movies to see what I can see going down the street. I want to live vicariously through the screen. I can't get to San Tropez myself, but Bond can take me there and show me a good time. Do none of these so called 'movie critics' know anything about movie history? The most elaborate fantasies were displayed during the depression years and they made bank. No one wanted to see how bad things were, they wanted to escape and be happy and entertained for at least a little bit.
