That's the whole point of this thread. I want to know why there's this "asshole aura" around the artist persona.
Two keywords: Ego. Narcissism.
The funny thing, is that artists need a big ego to believe in what they are doing. To have the power to create and block everyone who's telling you: "you suck" do something more productive. (Bigbro commented on this before on this thread)
Narcissism, because the artist is obsessed about his magic like ability... The power to create. And they feed on each other and... Ka-Blam! Artists like to talk to other weirdos, er sorry, I mean, artists to know themselves better. (At least I do.)
I love artists. They are the fool/crazyman of the tarot. The uncontrollable variable. Imagination.
