I'll start off this post by saying goodbye to a loyal friend:


I only used it on 130 or so carvings before that happened...
Good thing I have a spare!

My back's still too screwed to carve a lot, so I changed gears for a couple days and have been working on the mini surfboard a made a few weeks ago. I decided to do some woodburning designs on it.

I started by making a paper master sketch. Here it is taped to the board:

through a long and tedious process, I then transferred the master to the wood:

Fired up the woodburner and started from the bottom:

Moving up the design

Here's where I am now with it:

carving five minutes a day got this done after a few days:
