In today's LA Times LA Now section: Updated Clifton Cafeteria comes into focus: The new owner of the Clifton Cafeteria, Andrew Meieran -- already the owner of hip bar The Edison -- has revealed his plans for the classic downtown eatery, reports Blogdowntown. The cafeteria will be open 24 hours a day, and Meieran plans to open a speakeasy-style lounge and a tiki bar above the dining room. Ultimately, Meirean said his goal is to restore Clifton's to “what it was like in the '30s."

The Tiki bar may return to Cliftons.
