Everyone should have at least one Joe Meek compilation in their collection. He produced some amazing singles in the 60s ("Telstar" being the most famous). Jo Meek also did an amazing space-themed album called "I Hear a New World". Another great space themed album is "Man in Space With Sounds" by Atillio Mineo. Perrey and Kingsley did some crazy spacey albums in the 60s.
