Hawaiian Gardens in San Jose CA. My grandfather had a love of all things Polynesian after living in Hawaii for nearly a decade in the 20's before it was a state. He was a merchant marine and traveled through the entire South Pacific pre-world war 2. I grew up in a family who went to Trader Vics Emeryville AND San Francisco (Yes, the original one in The City) for many special family events. And that's the tip of the iceberg.
