Dude, I am touched by your story, I remember when my girlfriend lost her favorite ring while we were "hanging out" on the beach, and we went back the next day to search, but no luck. So, I'd like to offer you one of my tiki necklaces as a gift to a fellow surfer. Towards the bottom of my first post on this link, there are some necklaces.
