I've found that it actually improves my tiki work in the long run, as I learn other woodcarving techniques on different subjects. I saw you mention doing Southwest/Cowboy carving. I think that would be a fun subject that would sell by you. Here in the Midwest, its all bears and eagles, subjects that don't hold my attention at all.
