Good observation! One of the key differences between Tiki and Carribean style. While Carribean style is "colorful" and "happy", Tiki environs are dark and mysterious, with monochrome brooding idols lurking in the corners. Most Tikis painted in other colors than brown and black are a sign of the mid-70s to 80s devolution of Tiki style. Classic, original Tiki is about being "primitive", while Carribean style is about "Island Lifestyle".
