Aloha Tiki ohana. I joined around March 17, 2011. I don't remember doing this or not doing this. At the beginning of my trying to join Tiki Central, I had problems with screen names and email address connections and TC would not let me do what I thought was required. Eventually with the help of Lukelele (an acquaintance from other activities) and BigTikiDude I got fixed up. I must have posted a newbie introduction but I don't think it stuck after having reviewed my replies that I authored.
Here it is:
I live in So Cal in the Torrance area. I dig and customize classic cars. Tiki is a recent rediscovery. The more I dive into it, the more I realize that Tiki was a big part of my life while growing up. I remember being taken to Tiki lounges and staying in hotels with Tiki themes as a kid. So old cars and retro Tiki are what has kept me happy in my hobbies. I am happily married to soul mate Patti. Together we have two sons and collectively we have a daughter, three sons and three grandchildren. I am currently customizing a ’51 Ford Victoria with a Polynesian theme. I drive a ’62 Thunderbird called Tiki Bird and my middle son and I customized a ’64 Plymouth Valiant station wagon in a ‘60s style. I can’t wait to start participating in the different Tiki things going on around town, meet a few Tikiphiles and sip a few tropical drinks while doing it. So bare with me and my rediscovery of that old Tiki love that has recently surfaced while I get into the flow.
Mahalos,
