Bigbro, I scanned the postcard and it looks like the copyright date is 1958 - 61, but hard to tell exactly.
I would guess the postcard predated the painting. Nice score on that painting Bail Tekey. Also grabbed some images on matchbooks that show the restaurant and motel were run be separate owners at some point. The Giles' Leilani restaurant matchbook with a funny rendering of the Tiki that looks to be smiling.
And Harold's Leilani Motel.
