I went back to SD for a couple days to cool off. It was 36 degrees cooler in SD than it is here at noon. Feeling refreshed from my oceanside vacation, I finished up the Bumatay tribute today.
I decided to burn it:

Then i stained the uncarved part to match the hut it will be placed in:
