It had been some time since I had been there and I was expecting to see Mike, the owner in his usual enthusiastic and upbeat self. Sadly, I learned he was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and is not doing well. For those of you who know Mike, he is facing this with great courage. When his co-worker asked what she should tell people, Mike said, "Just tell them that I am sick with cancer." I have always appreciated Mike's good nature, impeccible talent for custom framing, and his mega cool shop with art by Shag, Doug Horne, and many other Tiki artists. Please send your good thoughts to Mike and his family and stop by and support the gallery if you have time. He's a great guy who has contributed much to the Tiki community.
