- On security for room parties: Not necessary. The room parties originated in early Palm Spring Oasis' (kudos to Dr. Z as the originator) as a way for TC friends to celebrate each other, share their special recipes, and simply enjoy small enjoyable personable Ohana gatherings.
In the past few years the room parties have evolved into massive room venues taking on a life of their own. Many current party throwers did not have the opportunity to attend the PS Oasis' so they really do not know the history or original intent. Current Suite parties are cool and I'm not criticizing, but the original intention of the room parties was something different I think.
That is why this year we tried in our cabana doing the big room parties after 10:30 and an actual room crawl at 2 in the afternoon. I still like the rum tasting the NorCal guys did a couple of years ago.
