This summer I built a small/medium hut to fill in an area of yard where some trees died... It was a fun project I did 100% by myself with a mitre saw, jigsaw and drill... I am happy with the end result... I got a few ideas from this forum, mainly the roof so thanks for the help and posts from members... Corgi Cove (in honor of our dogs, Welsh Corgis) which probably turns this into the biggest dog house ever.. it is 10 ft wide, 6 ft deep with 7.6 ft posts leading to about a 9 ft peak at the ridge... basic framing on basic 10 by 6 built deck picked this 5/4 oak bar top up for 40$, needed to be sanded alot and is not planed or jointed but has a great rustic look after cleaning it up stained on coated with 10 coats of marine varnish, cut out and put on over posts Roof framing which was then papered and sheathed with PT plywood and stained bartops and cabinets pretty much done, need to stain the deck and a few touch ups, also gotta decorate with some signs, nets, rope and put a back on it (probably just some 7 foot bamboo fence) corgi's [ Edited by: rterry 2011-09-30 12:27 ] |
