Just picked up my mugs from being fired and want to make a mold Help Please! - Other Crafts

I have never done anything in clay before, but after the tragic event of the stopper to my Unlucky Tourist being inadvertently thrown away with it's packaging (tears), I took a stab at making a replacement. It turned out pretty good and I was hooked. I ended up making 3 mugs too. So just got them back and I want to make a mold form them. I would really appreciate your advise or tips on the best way to make a mold. Remember, I'm a newbie so layman's terms are greatly appreciated too!
