Hey Tiki Creaters,

I hope I'm in the right place. I have never done anything in clay before, but after the tragic event of the stopper to my Unlucky Tourist being inadvertently thrown away with it's packaging (tears), I took a stab at making a replacement. It turned out pretty good and I was hooked. I ended up making 3 mugs too. So just got them back and I want to make a mold form them. I would really appreciate your advise or tips on the best way to make a mold. Remember, I'm a newbie so layman's terms are greatly appreciated too!

Here's a mold I made.

I know there are more here so if I left you out I am sorry.
It would help to see your mugs.
All molds are not the same, ei some molds are easy to do
and some need three or more parts.
Some things just are not right to mold.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!

Hi, I love being called a mold diva as long as I'm not a molding diva. On page one of my crafts thread is the best step by step on how to make a mold. I took photos as a master mold maker took us through the process. The opening was at the bottom for this salt shaker but you would just put your clay at the mouth of your mug as shown on my other mold examples. But go first to this one. Good Luck it's an adventure with lots of pitfalls. Wendy
