So, from google to a tc topic, or from Facebook to a tc topic. (this was designed to show ads to non-tc users. People using google and stumbling upon TC) if you go directly to the TC homepage first, that should signal TC to not show the ads. Anyway, if they're on Try clicking here to turn ads off. I think this should work.
