A daily comic strip published in several newspapers in the Monterey Bay area has a new story line involving the protagonist and her friend getting a gig decorating a new tiki restaurant/bar. I've talked with the writer of the strip, who has recently discovered Tiki Culture, and she's hinted that tiki is going to be in a longer story arch than she had originally planned since she's having so much fun.
