This tiki bar is on the island of Borneo at the classy Shangri-La Resort. So visiting may only be appealing and/or practial for Japanese and Australian tourists, of which there where plenty. My friend Jason and I ended up spending the evening (after drinks) having steaks on the beach with a near-retired Australian couple.

The bar was visually impressive, it's designed to look like a traditional hut and as you can tell had lots of tiki-like native carvings. It lives up to it's moniker and is the second best place in Kota Kinabalu to watch the sunset over the South China Sea- the first is sitting waterside at Sutera Resorts. (Downstairs from Ferdinand's and the Jim Thompson store.)

But the drink menu was very limited, just a handful of their unique cocktails and a few standards like two kinds of mojito and the Dark & Stormy. I had the Lepa-Lepa (a native boat) a blended coconut and mango drink that went down well.
