I've noticed a delightful trend lately and that is quality rum drinks at establishments that were previously martini's, appletini's, eggplantini's, etc. only.

Had a nice Dark and Stormy down at Harry's on Longboat Key, FL.
Wonderful cocktails and a fantastic selection of rums at SideBerns in Tampa, including one by Jeff Berry and another I shared with them from KuKu Ahu and Co.
My local joint, Shrimp Boat, has started exploring the world of craft cocktails at my insistence - (badgering) - and now has 2 amber rums to share the shelf space with the horrid Bacardi.

I'm finding more and more - at least one good rum on the shelf at nearly every place of any merit without a drive-through.

Long way from the desert it used to be out there only 7-8 years ago.
