BTW, what's the problem with admitting someone is more Tiki than oneself? Is John McLaughlin a better guitarist than me? Hell yes. Is Bong more Tiki than me? Hell yes - he plays steel in a Hawaiian group, he has been in the scene far longer than me, is a far more dedicated collector and attender of Tiki events than me, is a surfer, etc etc. Bong gets my respect as an aficionado of Tiki every time. Tiki "as attitude" seems to me an awful lot like the guru who got laughed out of the forum - you know, the dolphin wanker. But maybe it's time to lock this one... em |
